Rotary dampers used as a safety device

Rotary dampers function on the basis of restricted fluid displacement. This gives the rotary damper the ability to control and limit the speed of a mass rotating about a pivot point.

By fitting a rotary damper to the hinge of a lid, machine guard or door the closing speed can be limited to a safe level and prevent the risk of a finger trap injury.

Rotary dampers are available with clockwise, anti-clockwise and duel direction damping with damping torques up to 700Nm.
